Tips and Tricks for getting the best Indian Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Dancing Dolphin, Almost Oceanfront House in Indian Beach, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
