Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Beaufort, NC rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
