Finding the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
