How to book the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
