Tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront home with breathtaking views, West! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
