Tips to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the best vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath 1450 sq ft with Large Open Floor Plan, 3 Min Walk to Beach has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
