Emerald Isle vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Wee Blew Inn West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
