Rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. A Place at the Beach 319 has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
