Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. East Lodge - Group Friendly!! Free Wifi and Cable TV included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
