Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. East Lodge - Group Friendly!! Free Wifi and Cable TV included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
