Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To book the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean front Condo with ocean views, beach access & shared pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
